About Patrick

Patrick Powers is a senior-level digital strategy leader with nearly two decades of experience developing comprehensive web strategies, optimizing websites for search and reporting on overall website performance.

As the principal consultant and founder of Powers Digital, Patrick has worked with colleges, universities, health care systems and resort destinations to improve how their respective websites work and how they get found. He conducts UX research, drafts information architecture and can track keyword performance from search to conversion.

Patrick spent the first five years of his career meeting daily deadlines as a print journalist, covering crime and politics in Kansas and Illinois.

In 2005, he joined Webster University’s Global Marketing & Communications department, where he dove into digital. He served as the director of digital marketing and communications at Webster, establishing the school as a national leader in its use of social media and led a full redesign of the institution’s website.

In 2013, Patrick joined mStoner, a leading marketing and communications firm serving higher education clients across the country. He provided consulting services around strategy, branding, website redesign, social media and SEO. Clients included: Johns Hopkins University, Harvard Graduate School of Education, Fordham University, the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, the University of Missouri and Saint Louis University.

In 2015, Patrick moved to Mercy, one of Truven’s Top 5 Large Health Care Systems in the U.S. At Mercy, he developed and implemented its digital content strategy across all platforms, coordinated digital campaigns, and oversaw all search engine optimization efforts.

Patrick earned an MBA at Webster University and a master’s in public affairs reporting at the University of Illinois Springfield. He is a graduate of Saint Louis University and holds a bachelor’s degree in communication and political science.

Google has recognized Patrick as an Analytics and AdWords certified professional, meaning he passed multiple exams that assess his product expertise.

He lives in St. Louis, Mo., with his wife and two children.
